Follow me as I join "an extraordinary group of Americans who have sought the challenges that are unique to Peace Corps service: the opportunity to live in a different culture, to learn a new language, and to forge lasting relationships with the people of Peru and fellow Volunteers" (taken from the Peace Corps Volunteer Handbook)
Jaki: The Jet-Setter
Jaki, age 11, recently graduated from the middle school in Yuracoto and is now enrolling in a bigger public school in the town of Caraz for next year. This will be her last set of classes at the school inYuracoto; however, I see it as a perfect example of how she is ready to go out and explore new things. She's a smart "go getter", so I'm sure will not meet a challenge too great in her travels. In real life, Jaki's a sharp dresser and so I'm sure she chose Spain as her first stop for it's roots in the fashion and arts culture; however, it should be noted that she, and her classmate Fatima, opted to show their pride in Peru during their world travels by wearing the colors of the Peruvian flag. Viva Peru!
